If I were to buy a cheap muffler and spray it with underseal, would it last as long as a stainless one? Is the heat gonna cause the seal to burn?

I've seen high heat paints, spray on ceramic coatings, and spray on galvanizing coatings. My guess would be one of those might offer better protection, but I couldn't say for sure. I have no idea how hot car mufflers get.

I don't think underseal would last very long at all.

Engine enamel might do better though.

No, it won't and yes that will melt/burn.

Paint doesn't work well either because small rocks and debris will quickly wear it off.

SS is the best way to go if you can afford them.
